This policy explains what happens to data when you read techistra.com. In short: there are no accounts, we ask you for nothing, and the only information about you that reaches us is the ordinary technical record any web server keeps.
What we collect
- Server logs. Our host records requests to the site: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user-agent string. Logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
- Aggregate page statistics. We count page views so we know which guides get read. The counter records the page address and the time, not your identity, and we do not build profiles of readers.
- Email you send us. If you write to [email protected] we keep the message so we can reply and, where it is a correction, so there is a record of why a guide changed.
What we do not collect
There are no reader accounts, no newsletter, no comment form and no shop or payment processing on this site. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number or card details anywhere, and we do not sell or rent data to anyone.
Cookies
The site sets no tracking cookies for ordinary visitors. Our translation plugin may set a cookie remembering which language you chose. WordPress sets a session cookie if you log in to the administration area, which applies only to site staff, and our content delivery network may set a strictly technical cookie for security and caching.
Third parties
Pages carry advertising, and guides link to manufacturers, retailers and other publications. Advertisers and the sites you click through to run their own systems and set their own cookies, under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
The spec adviser
The laptop spec adviser runs entirely in your browser. The answers you give it are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and nothing is saved when you close the page.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, the EU or Brazil you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. In practice we hold nothing beyond server logs and any email you have sent us. Write to [email protected] and we will deal with it within a month.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update it on this page. It was last revised in July 2026.
