Among Final Fantasy’s hottest characters is arriving at Super Smash Bros Ultimate
As promised, another fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was just confirmed at THE OVERALL GAME Awards, and it appears like our pal Cloud is likely to be reviving a vintage rivalry. Sephiroth has been confirmed because the next character in Ultimate‘s second Fighters Pass. His reveal happened in a three-minute trailer featuring Cloud along with other Smash Bros Ultimate characters that led THE OVERALL GAME Awards tonite.
Those who find themselves getting excited about Sephiroth’s release thankfully don’t a lot longer to hold back until he’s here, because that trailer confirms that Sephiroth will undoubtedly be joining the roster of fighters later this month. We don’t have an accurate release date for Sephiroth at this time, so hopefully that comes round the bend in a short time.
Much like all Smash Bros reveal trailers, that one didn’t get into detail about Sephiroth’s moveset. Typically, movesets are revealed in deep dives hosted by Smash Bros Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai. Sakurai has even kept up along with his deep dives as the COVID-19 pandemic has been keeping everyone in the home, so hopefully we are able to expect exactly the same to be true for a Sephiroth deep dive.
Sephiroth would be the third fighter in Ultimate‘s Fighters Pass Vol. 2. Originally, the program was to only provide a single Fighters Pass featuring five DLC characters, but as Sakurai and his team at Sora Ltd. finished that up, it had been revealed that you will see another pass featuring six new fighters. The initial two – Min-Min from ARMS and Steve from Minecraft – have been completely put into Ultimate.
So, there you own it: Cloud’s archenemy will be joining the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. We’ll inform you when more is revealed about Sephiroth and what he is able to do, so keep tuned in for that.
